UNEMPLOYED

UNEMPLOYED

Todays blog goes out to the unemployed.   The economy in my opinion is weak and we have a lot of people competing for the same jobs.   However, its times like this where new ideas are born.  The internet has created jobs and can help lead you into a career of making you some good money.
A couple of pointers,  if you are unemployed, find a business idea you feel can give you the edge.   Promote your company online and watch traffic increase.  If traffic does increase, you are doing something right.   If traffic doesn't increase, keep promoting till you see what works.

Imagine a mall has 30 stores and 1000 customers.   On the net, you can be 1 store with an unlimited amount of customers walking in and out.   Be optimistic you will get that traffic.   Be different.   Be you.

Unemployment can lead you to blogging, finding out where to get products cheaper or making you browse the net on finding out how to interview successfully.

Either way, a job, a career is around the corner.   our job is to keep looking.

Have a good Sunday!

GAS!

Higher Gas already? Well Gas is moving up and in the direction most do not want to see. Its times like this where we should look for the advantages of higher gas. Sort of look for the hidden positives to focus on.

A) Higher Gas will force us to drive more fuel efficient vehicles. I am sure the auto makers will make cars that the consumers want. (Bye Bye Hummer)

B) We might even begin driving at the actual speed limit now. Higher speeds take more gas

C) We might begin to manage our time better and only drive the car is we have 3 or more errands to run.

D) Higher Gas might force us to stay at home with the family....ahhhhh the good old days of having no cars

Who needs a GYM!

Gym memberships are overrated. You will more than likely stop going after 3 months. Gyms, know that; thats why you have 1 year contract that "appeared cheaper" to sign up for than a monthly pay as you go with no contract.
If you want a gym, go buy a pull up bar, do sit ups, pushups and even use a medicine ball to get those abs in shape. The total work out at home can be done for less

Make it a good Saturday!

Weekends

Financial issues? Weekends are the best thing that can happen. It is not only a day to rest but a day to figure out how to dig yourself out of a hole.
You may do the following
A) Think of ventures that can help bring you extra money. (2nd Job? )
B) Organize and plan shopping ventures where you make sure you save the most amount of money. We usually spend more when we are shopping in a hurry. If you have deals outlined and you know your course of attack, you can come out ahead
C) Find ways of cutting back without sacrificing your lifestyle ( Downgrade your cable service or other ammenties you may have)
D) Organize your finances, find out which bills are costing you the most (highest interest charges/late fees)
E) Call companies that bill you and speak to them about having charges reveresed. (They want to keep you as a customer, might as well get something in return.

Hope all this information helps. Make it a good Friday!

Grocery Shopping!

When you are making a trip to the grocery store, I am sure the last thing on your mind is how grocery chains arrange their shelves. It is key to step back and realize that stores are open to make a profit. Sure, these stores care about their customers but their bottom line is to make the $. Be careful not to buy on the impulse, deals for candy, toys and other products are usually by the checkout lane. Basically, these stores want you to buy their products before you leave. Once in your hand, the checkout lane is right infront of you. It makes it an easy sell.

If you are trying to stay with in and budget, impulse buying is a big no no.

Another thing to be watchful of is, products at eye level on shelves are usually more costly than products at the bottom or the corner of the shelf. One must browse the entire shelf and make an informed buy.

On your next trip to the grocery store, keep your eyes open; see how these chains place their products and advertise prices/deals. Remember knowledge is key!

BILLS GALORE!

When you develop a budget, you will find out how much income you have coming in and how much expenditure you have leaving. They key is to live within your means.
Keep a budget simple, so you can think easy. If you can tally up your total and see your expenses for the month are $5K and your income is 4K. It is time to cut back and cut cost.
To be successful you need to imagine you are a multi million dollar corporation. If a corporation is spending more than their revenues they cut cost.

A couple of things you can cut from your budget

A) Gym memberships (You probably got hyped up in the beginning of the year and signed up). If you dont go, shake this membership off. If you do go, you may want to consider an alternative like jogging in a public park. Pushups at home. Buy a pull up bar you can install at home.

B)For all you starbucks coffee lovers......Coffee? Who needs coffee in the morning, saving $5 a day equals $150 a month. Which equates to $1825 a year

C) Carpool if you are comuting to work.

D) Shop around for a better quote for your car insurance.

E) Buy energy efficient lightbulbs.

F) Stop eating out, try and cook at home.

G) Downgrade cell phone plans.

H) Coupons! Find deals on the internet. Do your research and you will save money

All of the above should help save money short/long term. It takes a strong will/ motivation to change. Stay positive and motivated. Things will get better!
