Who needs a GYM!

Gym memberships are overrated. You will more than likely stop going after 3 months. Gyms, know that; thats why you have 1 year contract that "appeared cheaper" to sign up for than a monthly pay as you go with no contract.
If you want a gym, go buy a pull up bar, do sit ups, pushups and even use a medicine ball to get those abs in shape. The total work out at home can be done for less

Make it a good Saturday!

Weekends

Financial issues? Weekends are the best thing that can happen. It is not only a day to rest but a day to figure out how to dig yourself out of a hole.
You may do the following
A) Think of ventures that can help bring you extra money. (2nd Job? )
B) Organize and plan shopping ventures where you make sure you save the most amount of money. We usually spend more when we are shopping in a hurry. If you have deals outlined and you know your course of attack, you can come out ahead
C) Find ways of cutting back without sacrificing your lifestyle ( Downgrade your cable service or other ammenties you may have)
D) Organize your finances, find out which bills are costing you the most (highest interest charges/late fees)
E) Call companies that bill you and speak to them about having charges reveresed. (They want to keep you as a customer, might as well get something in return.

Hope all this information helps. Make it a good Friday!

Grocery Shopping!

When you are making a trip to the grocery store, I am sure the last thing on your mind is how grocery chains arrange their shelves. It is key to step back and realize that stores are open to make a profit. Sure, these stores care about their customers but their bottom line is to make the $. Be careful not to buy on the impulse, deals for candy, toys and other products are usually by the checkout lane. Basically, these stores want you to buy their products before you leave. Once in your hand, the checkout lane is right infront of you. It makes it an easy sell.

If you are trying to stay with in and budget, impulse buying is a big no no.

Another thing to be watchful of is, products at eye level on shelves are usually more costly than products at the bottom or the corner of the shelf. One must browse the entire shelf and make an informed buy.

On your next trip to the grocery store, keep your eyes open; see how these chains place their products and advertise prices/deals. Remember knowledge is key!

BILLS GALORE!

When you develop a budget, you will find out how much income you have coming in and how much expenditure you have leaving. They key is to live within your means.
Keep a budget simple, so you can think easy. If you can tally up your total and see your expenses for the month are $5K and your income is 4K. It is time to cut back and cut cost.
To be successful you need to imagine you are a multi million dollar corporation. If a corporation is spending more than their revenues they cut cost.

A couple of things you can cut from your budget

A) Gym memberships (You probably got hyped up in the beginning of the year and signed up). If you dont go, shake this membership off. If you do go, you may want to consider an alternative like jogging in a public park. Pushups at home. Buy a pull up bar you can install at home.

B)For all you starbucks coffee lovers......Coffee? Who needs coffee in the morning, saving $5 a day equals $150 a month. Which equates to $1825 a year

C) Carpool if you are comuting to work.

D) Shop around for a better quote for your car insurance.

E) Buy energy efficient lightbulbs.

F) Stop eating out, try and cook at home.

G) Downgrade cell phone plans.

H) Coupons! Find deals on the internet. Do your research and you will save money

All of the above should help save money short/long term. It takes a strong will/ motivation to change. Stay positive and motivated. Things will get better!

Target Shoppers!!

Target shoppers, you may want to check their website for coupons you can print before heading there. Whether is Grocery items, electronics, home & Decor; you may want to browse the coupon section and see if you can save some money.

It might be a good idea to bookmark this website if you shop there.

Get cheaper gas

Well, there are a couple of deals out there that I have seen.

A) Spending money at your local stop and shop can save you money at the pump (Shell gas stations to be specific). You may want to browse the stop and shop website to get more details/verify

B) Using your chase freedom credit card can get you 5% cash back if you are enrolled in that program

C) Hess credit card for new account holders can get you 10% back for the first 60 days (minimum $400 purchase required). Please check the Hess website to verify first.

Gas is crutial and until the new gas mileage requirements hit in 2016, we might as well save what ever little we can.

Time to save some $

SAVING MONEY IS KEY!

Yes, I used capital on the sentence above to stress how important it is. You are bound to get a high electric bill, a vacation bill that turned out to be more or a grocery bill that seems to have doubled (thanks inflation).

Question is, how can we save money?

I will focus on groceries today

A) Buy items that are on sale with coupons. (Patience is key) Get the coupons, organize them, and wait for the item to go on sale at your local grocery store. Relax, it will go on sale and when it does, you will save sometimes over 50%.

B) Dont buy things you do not need. You really don't need those candy bars, not even when they are going 2 for a $1. Walk away!

C) Soda. Walk away. I have been seeing a lot of deals on buying coke cans. Some of these deals even make sense but the key is to walk away. The long term consequences of drinking soda are not good. The short term consequences are not good either. Best solution, walk away.

D) Plan your grocery trips out. Know what you need and what is on sale and what you have a coupon for. Going to a grocery story with no battle plan is like going to a toy store with a 4 year old and hoping for the best. Planning is key. Trust me

These 4 important points are a beginning to getting smarter in the quest of saving $.

Hang in there...Knowledge will help.

The Preacher who predicted the end of the world on Sat May 21st 2011, Mr. Harold Camping, is no where to be found. He is an 89 year old former civil engineer and he speaks to his followers via the Family Radio Network.
I hope he is ok and is available to man up and answer questions. I am sure alot of followers have questions and would like to find out what happened.

Its Monday, you know what that means. Take it easy and look to gear up for Tuesday

Make it a good one.

Another Kid?

Former Gov Arnold Schwarzegger acknowledged that he has another child with a member of his household staff. This apparently happened over 10 years ago. I am sure he is kind of relieved he came out with the news and saddened that his wife Maria Schriver chose to seperate.

The question is, should you be allowed to have 2 wives during these special circumstances? Tough question to answer because there are so many consequences for any senerio.

MONDAY

Also known as YADNOM backwards. The beginning of the week sets the tone for the rest of the week according to everyone in sales. I on the other hand believe Monday should be a rest day. I rather take it easy and work harder on Tuesday. I typically dont like to follow the herd and like to look at things differently. So if you are reading this and work hard on Monday. Take a break and relax. Tuesday is the new Monday!

Make it a good one

BLOGGER DOWN

On a day that began as any other, everything seemed normal on the blogosphere except our ability to log onto blogs on googles beloved blog network. Days like today make you remember how it was 20 or 30 years ago were we used to read magazines, newspapers instead of the internet. We still do read magazines and newspapers but they are quickly losing market share to the power of the internet. Wonder where we will be 20-30 years from now.

Any ideas? Make it a good Friday!

Robert 'Tractor" Traylor

RIP Tractor Traylor. He was found dead today at the age of 34 in Puerto Rico. Tractor Traylor was a star basketball player in Michigan who made it to the NBA. Although he never had a big season in the NBA, he was a well known player. It is sad to see someone at the age of 34 pass away. RIP Robert.

CINCO DE MAYO

Yesterday was Cinco De Mayo. If you are wondering what this holiday is, I will explain. Contraty to popular belief it is not the Mexican Independence day which is Sep 16th.

Cinco De Mayo stems from a famous battle by the Mexican army against the French on May 5th 1862. The victory gave the mexicans spirit and thus they look back and celebrate.

Hope you had a good Cinco De Mayo

MAY DAY

What is May day?

According to Wikipedia,

May Day occurs on May 1 and refers to several public holidays.[1] In many countries, May Day is synonymous with International Workers' Day, or Labour Day, a day of political demonstrations and celebrations organised by communists, anarchists, socialists, unionists, and other activist groups. May Day is also a traditional holiday in many cultures.

Question is, why are we working on May day in the US while the rest of the world has off?

A joke to cheer us up.
A husband read an article to his wife , about how many words women use a day is 30,000.But in the case of a man it is 15,000.The wife replied "the reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men".The husband then turned to his wife and asked , "What?"
